Vegasstars Online new games: a practical way to assess a release

The New tab in the Vegastars lobby held 22 games when we saved it on 15 October 2026. Some were brand new. Others had been out at other casinos for a while. This page shows how to tell the difference, and what to check before you play an unfamiliar game.

What was new at Vegasstars Online

The Vegastars list included Forever Split Megaways, Doctor Dust, Coffee Dealer, Max The Mathmagician, Wicked Grin, Tommy Gun Gold, Lucky's Wild Pub 2 and Big Bass - Secrets of the Golden Lake. Gates of Olympus 2500 sat here and in the main pokies tab. Hold & Win had its share as well, with Sun Totem, The Jade Path and 4 Chili Pots.

The covers above this guide show the full set. Each one opens the partner site.

New to the lobby isn't the same as new

A new badge means the casino added the game recently. It doesn't mean the studio released it this week. For the real launch date, check the studio's website or its news page. Studios publish a date for almost every game.

Sequels and spin-offs

Lots of releases are new versions of old hits. Lucky's Wild Pub 2 follows Lucky's Wild Pub, and the Big Bass series now runs to well over a dozen games. A sequel can keep the look and change the maths. The max win may go up, the bonus trigger may change, and the RTP range may move.

So compare the two versions directly. Put the stake range, the feature triggers and the RTP from each help screen side by side. Liking the original is no guarantee you'll like the sequel.

Read the mechanic, not the theme

Forever Split Megaways and Hot Chili Heat both have loud, colourful themes. The engine is what separates them. In a classic Megaways layout, the number of symbols on each reel changes every spin, giving up to 117,649 ways to win. Hold & Win games collect coin symbols during a short respin round. Work out which engine you're playing before you judge the game.

New games have no hidden payout period

Forums sometimes claim that fresh releases pay more to pull players in. There's no evidence for it. The studio fixes the maths before launch, and a random number generator decides every spin from the first day to the last. Launch hype is marketing.

Try a new game in demo first

Most studios release a free demo alongside each game, and it's the cheapest way to learn an unfamiliar feature. Play 50 or 100 demo spins and watch three things: how often wins land, how big they are, and how the bonus round actually plays out. Demo results don't predict real-money results. They do show whether you like the game before it costs you anything.

Volatility in recent releases

Many recent pokies are built for high volatility, with max wins of 10,000x or more. That means long dry spells punctuated by rare big hits. Studios usually state the volatility on a scale, low to high or as a number from 1 to 5. If the help screen gives a hit frequency, that tells you roughly how often any win lands. A game with a 1 in 4 hit rate pays something on about a quarter of spins.

New games and bonus terms

A game can reach the lobby before the bonus terms are updated. It may also be left off the eligible list on purpose. Check the excluded-games list before you play a new title with bonus funds. The casino promotions guide explains wagering and game weighting.

A quick checklist for any new release

  • The exact name and studio
  • The launch date from the studio, not the badge
  • The engine: Megaways, Hold & Win, cluster pays or classic paylines
  • RTP and bet range from the help screen
  • Whether it counts towards your bonus

The pokies guide explains how to read the help screen in more detail.

Do the covers prove a game is live right now?

No. They come from our copy of 15 October 2026. Games get added and removed, so check the lobby itself.

Where can I find the newest confirmed release?

The studio's own news page is the most reliable source. For how this guide handles dates and sources, see the casino overview.
